PILARÍN FERRER VISCASILLAS, AIA

Pilarín Ferrer began her career in 1985 as an architectural designer and in 1988 led the interior planning department at Simon Drury Ltd. She joined Méndez, Brunner, Badillo & Associates in December 1992, became an associate in 2002, and in 2023 became partner, when the firm adopted its current name, Méndez Badillo + Ferrer.

Her work spans residential design, the interior planning of more than forty medical offices, and federal projects for ICE, the U.S. Marshals, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, GSA, the DEA, the IRS and the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, including the expansion of the Emergency Department and Observation Unit, the 38 kV powerline, the COVID testing laboratory and the Hurricane Recovery Projects.

A past president of the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico and of the AIA Puerto Rico Chapter, she has taught at the School of Architecture of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico since 2010, where she coordinates the Sustainable Technologies Academic Unit and serves as NCARB AXP Licensing Advisor.
